Job Description

As a Medical Device Designer at Biomedisca, you will play a crucial role in the development of innovative medical devices that improve patient care and health outcomes. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and refining medical devices and systems, ensuring they meet industry standards and user needs. Your expertise in design, engineering, and medical technology will contribute to the advancement of our product line and uphold our commitment to delivering safe, effective, and user-friendly medical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Development: Create and refine designs for new medical devices, considering functionality, aesthetics, usability, and compliance with medical regulations.
  2. Prototyping and Testing: Develop prototypes and conduct rigorous testing to evaluate design efficacy, safety, and compliance with industry standards.
  3. Research and Analysis: Stay abreast of the latest medical technologies and design trends; conduct research to understand user needs and market demands.
  4. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, product managers, and healthcare professionals to ensure designs meet technical specifications and user requirements.
  5. Documentation: Maintain detailed design documentation, including specifications, design drawings, and compliance records.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs comply with relevant medical device regulations and standards (e.g., FDA, CE marking).
  7. User-Centric Design: Incorporate feedback from healthcare professionals and patients to improve device usability and effectiveness.
  8. Quality Assurance: Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure the final product meets the highest quality standards.
  9. Project Management: Manage timelines and resources effectively to ensure project milestones are met.

Skills & Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 5 years of experience in medical device design, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD), prototyping, and materials science.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with medical device regulations and standards.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present designs and concepts clearly.
  • Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders.
  • Innovative Thinking: Ability to think creatively and develop new design solutions.
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills.
